Above is one of the passages that we discussed in class from Rabih Jaber’s novel الاعترافات (page 31). It comes at the moment that the narrator’s identity shifts.
Please translate this passage in your own way, that is, without the help of others in the class. You can stop at the closing parenthesis in this image clip above.
One of the main problems in this passage are the verbs marking struggle and violence. Remember the idea of cohesion (one definition: “the network of lexical, grammatical, and other relations which link various parts of a text.” [Shi]) we brought up in class.
